Hello everyone. I keep seeing those renegade and heretic list on the army list part of the forum. I though their rule where out of date and unplayable.

2 Question:
-Were they update?
-Where can I find those rule? (I mean, which book, or is it only a pdf online?)

No they are completely up to date. IA13 and IA:Vraks.

I would get IA13, but then, I have the original Siege of Vraks books and would like to have all of the Chaos units in IA13.

Not much, honestly IA13 seems to be generic, whereas vraks seems to be intended to be more specific to a single campaign. IA13 contains all marks, Vraks is just khorne and nurgle (and unmarked). However, Vraks does contain rules for specific characters not found in vraks, makes spawn elite choices, allows for unlimited zombie units, and has the nifty purge detachment (1HQ, 2 elites required).

I can't decide which is better, been leaning slightly towards The Purge in Vraks recently.
Both have exceptional versitility.

Essentially if you want to play Tz or Slaanesh oriented renegades then IA13 is the only choice.

If you want to play nurgle or khorne renegades IMO IA Vraks does it a bit better. However you will not have the IA13 rules for units in CSM and CD armies.

BTW if you want to play massive swarms of zombies, blot the sky out with artillery, or endless tides of crazed cultists those are all IA Vraks. IA13 has a more rounded list with less extreme builds that tends to work well with take a little of everything. Personally I got both and I love the books.

If you just want Renegades, you should definitely get the Vraks book. As people have pointed out, it lacks Slaanesh and Tzeentch options, but some details make it a lot better than the IA:13 version (imo): unlimited zombies and Ordnance Tyrant (elite/troop artillery, lobbing barrage into combats).
