Hey guys, so I currently own one full fledged army (Ogre Kingdom) and I want to get two more. Basically I want to have enough variety in my different armies to get others interested in joining. What should the other 2 armies be?

3500 Imperium army

1250 Nidzilla

1000 Chaos army

1000 Drukhari Raiding Force

Humans. Always have a human army on hand.

Not sure about the 3rd one though.

Undead. Get them in on the Army of Darkness references you can throw in... hell you can use KoM and get a converted Ash (with his car of course) to go up against the undead.

Ogres, Humans and Undead do sound best if you're going for maximum variety without being weird.

I actually think the three best armies for demo purposes - roughly 600 to 700 points - are Undead, Orcs, and Dwarves. They all have such massively different playstyles that someone demoing the game can try all three armies and see how while the rules are simple the flavor comes from the lists. Plus the models are dirt cheap for the basic infantry plus the official Mantic models look pretty good when painted up.

" - Rick Priestley "I've decided that I'd rather not have you as a member of TMP." - Editor, The Miniatures Page "I'd rather put my testicles through a mangle than spend any time gaming with you." - Richard, TooFatLardies "We need a Doug Craig in every store." - Warlord Games "Thank you for being here, Judge Doug!" - Adam Troke

If you're looking to attract other people to the game, I'd also go with Humans and Undead.

The rationale is that people always like humans - and Perry Miniatures, etc are both cheap and great looking. "Use any humans, even Historicals" is a great system seller line. Undead on the other hand are Mantic's own overall best model range, and as Doug states, they play quite differently with Shambling and Surge, as well as having a wide variety of troops to choose from.

Definitely Undead.

Ogres are great, since they're an easy army to collect and paint, doesn't require many models.

For the third one, it is really down to personal preference, you could even go for something exotic like forces of nature or the herd with non-mantic minis just to show off the versatility of the army lists.

Though bear in mind that Heroes are very, very important for an Undead army!

I might actually go for four armies - the Mantic Orcs are pretty nice, and the Perry War of the Roses models are also very nice.

And inexpensive.

Having a total of four armies also allows each one to have an allied force - and both Humans and Ogres are Neutral, allowed to ally with each other or with either of the Evil forces.

For home games I typically have to provide both armies. What would people's opinions be of starting with Dark Elves and Orcs? Keep in mind I know about the possibility of changes to the Abyssal Kin army list. But they are two armies I would love to paint/model, and it seems they would offer two very different playstyles.

Or maybe Orcs and standard Elves?

If you're keen on them, then they're the best armies to paint and play for you. Your enthusiasm is worth more than any small variation in model play between the two elf types.

More importantly, with the Dark Elves, you can easily use either or both the "High/Wood" Elf and TK list. My first planned army for KoW was using my High Elves, and I ended up using the TK (DE) list for them.

Just ensure that the Orcs have some cavalry or other fast units. Elves superior infantry move can make beginning games against all-infantry/no cavalry humans/orcs/etc very difficult.

Oh, yeah. Both sides will have cavalry. Orcs will technically be more of an Orcs/Goblins list, to reflect more of a Warhammer World feel.
