Early in AOS many people pointed out models that seemed OP, most of which were large monsters. One of these was Nagash, who can be defeated but can also be hard to kill. Another was the Necrosphynx thing from the Tomb Kings. I have found lizardmen with special characters attached to high morale troops worked well (chakax with a squad of saurus or temple guard... boosts their attack numbers). Nagash and other monsters can only cause so many hits, and who cares if he does a 6 damage hit to a 1 wound model? (well, except for that model which had a very squishy death)
I have been playing Stormcast Eternals lately (they have grown on me), but never had a good answer for large monsters excluding their only mounted character. My new answer to this and other tough monsters is the Stormcast Eternal Protectors who I have been proxying today. D6 damage to monsters and the starmace thing causes d3 wounds with no rolls!
What's your answer to tough monsters?

Dark elves have lots of answers to monsters - bolt throwers, executioners, Malekith and a host of mortal wound spells usually deal with monsters and monstrous heroes pretty well.

Damage spreads to other models. So 6 Damage kills 6 1 Wound models.
Also, what do you mean by "attached"? There's no concept of that in Age of Sigmar, so that Chakax can be singled out and killed (far easier than a monster can).
Same answers I've always had for monsters: Slayers and Warmachines.

Attached is pretty much similar to 40k, pretty simple concept (remember I said similar).
In AOS some heroes have buffs that work if units are within several inches. Chakax has a buff like this. If you 'attach' him to the unit... anotherwords run him along side the unit... your entire unit can get the buff.

Well, the Protectors seem to be the paper to monsters' rock along with swarming Liberators (their special rule helps).
As for every other army... CANNONS. And war machines in general. Last game my friend's trebuchet wounded my Lord-Celestant well enough for him to die in the same turn's melee.
