We've seen the other points comp systems running about and frankly, they appear to be failures.
Over a pint of ale with my mate and some girls who tagged along this weekend we came up with a much better set of rules for competitive AoS play.
Introducing the The Kel'Amor Droll'Kakath AoS Points Comp V2.0
Basic improvements:
- No shooting into or out of combat
- No random charges - All charges are simply double your movement characteristic
- Monsters don't weaken when wounded
- All models on square bases and rank format - no skirmishing except when specially designated
- Characters, unless mounted, must be in units
- Look Out Sir
- No summoning
- All Stormcast are -1 to hit (they are overpowered)
- Dwarfs re-roll hit rolls against all Chaos (optional but suggested for balance)
New spells:
All armies can choose from these new spells as well:
Heavens of Glah'Dor ThunderLight: Choose a point within 20 inches. All enemy units within 5 inches of that point received -1 to hit during the following turn. All friendly units within 7 inches of the point receive +1 to rend. All mages within 12 inches of the point are -1 to cast for two turns. Works on a 8+
Tor'Khafa'No'Baffa: Use the large blast template anywhere within 12 inches. All models underneath it suffer one hit, Wound on a 3+, no saves. Works on a 10+
Rune Smash Rhloo'Ranna: All Dwarfs on the table receive +1 to hit for the following turn. All current spells in play are dispelled. All mages are at -1 to cast for the remainder of the game. Works on 9+
Dwarfs can cast these spells too.
To find point costs of your units, simply multiple their to hit and to wound rolls with their save roll and attacks. Add wounds if necessary. We're playing 2,000 point games.
Use this thread to chronicle your experiences playing this system.
