When you enter a challenge as a character and then follow up with the rule to swap the fighting character with another model in base contact with the other challenger does the guy who swapped out get to consolidate in to make attacks or would he be unable to attack?

Also, when you do make this swap for a challenge and both characters are not in base contact with any models then who moves to who and where do they move?

Thanks

Heroic intervention changes who is in the challenge. The original model can fight as normal.

They don't have to move, it simply changes allocation.

It states in the rulebook that they must be moved into base contact and must try their best to swap with a model who already is. Under Accepting a Challenge. So was there an FAQ that changed this?
