I think this is a silly question. I feel all I needed was to gently use tip of the brush across the sword, but I swear, it just looks ... bad. My attempts just look so bad when I compare them to GW's result. Am I missing something here or it's a case of try and try again until I get things right?

Other than thinning your paints down excessively and building the tones up subtlety.... I think it's just a matter of practise
