Have dipped in and read for a while, but thought I may as well sign up and get stuck in. Here's the deal with me:

• Got into 40K in the RT era, via Space Crusade, as a young'un

• Worked for GW, in the stores and at head office, during/after uni

• Got back into things last year, after a c.10 year break, when Space Hulk got reissued

I've since started trying to be a bit more strict with myself about actually finishing off some painting projects, instead of getting perennially distracted. Current project plans are finishing off painting all the SH guys, updating my never-quite-finished Bad Moon warband from 3rd/4th ed., and a little combined Skaven/Nurgle force for AoS (which has really reinvigorated my interest in Fantasy now I don't have to paint like a billion guys).

Think that's about it. Hi.

Hi there!

Welcome back to the hobby so to speak. And welcome to Dakka.

Come join us in the wet-painty area, and we can't keep poking you with sharp objects motivating and helping until you get your projects finished.

Glad to hear some love for the AoS for once.

Cheers man! And yeah, I'll give that a go as I think I'd really benefit from a boot up the arse, painting-wise.

I'd be lying if I said I'm not sorry to see the back of the Old World and associated background, and I have my reservations about the apparently entirely fantastical setting of AoS, but in terms of rules and number of guys I need to paint, it looks much more my speed. I just don't have the time and resources these days to knowing another huge rulebook inside out, and painting a load of guys I don't especially care for.

Welcome back brah.

If you're liking the AoS small skirmish-y appeal, think about looking into 'Kill Team' for 40K. It's a smaller skirmish ruleset that you can actually use your Space Hulk dudes for in a general terrain/game board setting instead of the board/corridor-type stuff - just an idea to maybe give them tabletop time and perhaps increase your interest in getting other tiny forces for you to build/paint.

Aha, yeah I remember the Kill Team rules from the 4th Ed. rulebook! The Combat Patrol rules from 3rd were always good for getting some small-scale games in too.

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
