I'm thinking about getting the USAriadna box set, the $80 starter, with 10 models, basic terrain and rule book.

Is that a good place to start?

Also how are they as an army, I like them aesthetically but I don't know if they are my playstyle

Thanks for the help!

Well, the army box is an excellent place to start. 10 models, 1 being exclusive to the box. Profiles, templates, markers, and terrain included.

Ariadna is the low tech faction, so they don't get all the uber toys, remotes, and TAG's of other factions.

US Ariadna is just coming out, so we'll see their playstyle develop.
They have: infiltrating camo specialists (FO Foxtrots)
Fast units (up to 11 bikes between Mavericks and Desperadoes)
great link teams (Grunts and Minutemen, with secondary Haris Marauders)
Drop troops lead by Van Zant
and some nice beat sticks with their Devil Dog teams.

You can play a horde army easily, or higher point cost links and beatsticks.
They will be competetive, but are slightly lacking in a couple specialist areas. There is only ONE engineer profile that we know of so far (Dozer) and NO hackers at all so far.

I'm picking them up for my first Sectorial to build off my Vanilla Ariadna force.
