Still trawling the news about this story. Gunman killed, apparently had a gun and a hatchet- one injured from hatchet wound, 2 from pepper spray.

Only gun fatality is the shooter himself.
Reports indicate he released a "thick fog of pepper spray" before attacking the audience during a screening of Mad Max.

I suspect he, like many people, didn't realize that when used indoors pepper spray is more of an area effect spell than a cone of affect, and that friendly fire is enabled.

So to enjoy a nice rum(s) and coke, pizza and popcorn I now need :
1) night vision gear;
2) sentry alarm (dog)
3) A shotgun, rifle, and a four wheel drive.
4) gas mask
Seriously? Its like having small children again, all the gear I have to manage.
Remember, in an emergency, think of the children. They can be used as effective mobile shields you can hold up while making your getaway. er..too soon?

When are we going to reform the mental health system and laws in this country?

I think the big issue is how HIPPA allows records to feed into NICS

Some people are unable to let a good crisis go to waste. The Isla Vista attacker killed half his victims with a knife, and used his vehicle to assault others. The only implement that he used that was decried was the firearm
