Dakkadakka it's been awhile but I finally bought my 1000pts of GKs and I'm curious on if I should just get the last 500 points or bring allies to fill the gaps of weakness this list may bring. Ok so here is my 1200 points of GKs.

NSF

HQ

ML 3 Librarian with Warding Staff and DLD

Troop

Ten man Terminator Squad all with Swords w/ 2 Hammers and 2 Psycannons

[u]Fast Attack[u]

Stormraven Gunship with TL MM and TL LC

[u]Heavy Support[u]

Two NDK with Personal Teleporter, Sword, Psycannon, and Incenerator

Now Dakkadakka I would love to hear your opinion on the last 500 points for allies or I I should ditch something to open more points for them. My original thought was Blood Angels in DP with flamer hell. As always thank you for any input (doing this on my phone so I'm sorry for any errors)

I assume the Termies and the Libby will be in the Stormraven?

Will you deep strike the DKs or deploy them turn one?

My concern with starting with so few models is losing the DKs on turn 1 or 2 before they can be really effective.

I'd suggest taking some Strike Squads to take objectives or maybe some cheap allies if you have the option. Otherwise, not a bad start.

You need reserve manipulation, bodies, and anti heavy armor.

Two 5man tac squads w meltas in las razorbacks, and a solid hq on a bike (techmarine is str 8 ap1 servo arm)

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Reserve manipulation / capt Sicarius or the smurf psyker if running ultras.

Ultramarines with tigy scout and cents would fit in and add quite a punch.
Inquisition with warbands filled with some good av plus aegis
W's or Da bike army to make thise NDK even more beefy cause of concussion effect and nice dakka support.

Thank you guys for the advice on the Allies. I'm not too sure about Inquisition but the Ravenwing / White Scar bikes have peaked my interest. I was going to deep strike the termies and leave the Stormraven empty. I'm not a fan of the idea of keeping it out of the game with units in it as well unless it would be a group of purifiers or something

Go white scars over ravenwing - you get alot more utility.

What's left of Cadia

They do. But white scars bikers are a bit stronger

TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes

Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum

Ravenwing Black Knights. They can scout forward 12" then your Grey Knights can deep strike without scattering within 6".

Ravenwing all get to reroll their jink save so turbo boost them for a 2+ rerollable cover then shoot normally after that. I would take the ravenwing over the white scars simply if you are going to use them for teleport homers they are more durable, better shooting with plasma, and WAY better in combat with corvis hammers. take the black knights and a libby on bike

Well Heres what I would do. If you takin a storm raven - put the anti psyker assasin in there. Then you got 330 points for another big ass term squad.
