Hello all.

Been playing 40k for a long while now, but was out of the game for a couple editions due to time and a lack of interest (not that that stopped me from playing Rogue Trader, Only War, Dark Heresy, etc). I've always loved the Adeptus Mechanicus and their fluff, and seeing that they have an army now, I've gotten back into the hobby.

I've been working on 1500 points for an AdMech War Convocation (I really wish Skitarii and Cult Mechanicus would synergize at low points without having to use the War Convocation, but such is life).

The first unit I've managed to finish (mostly) is the Rangers.

Figured I'd put it up and see your opinions on it, see if there's anything you think I could do to improve them, etc.

I've discovered that the new glazes that GW put out work quite well. I used blue on the eyes and shoulder lens, green on the light on the backpack, and red to backlight the gauge on the backpack. The omnispex also has a pulse line drawn on it in white and glazed with green to give it an old-style green/black screen appearance. It's hard to see in that picture, but I've also used a variety of colors for the various hoses and wiring on the models to give some different details here and there.

For the bases I went with the Martian Ironearth crackle paint, and the rocks were a base of khorne red with a heavy nuln oil wash to make it look like ore inside, and then drybrushed with brown and squig orange to bring it back to the ironearth shade.

I still have a little work to do. They still need decals and the alpha and omnispex need cog lines (alpha with hood, front of cloak and bottom of cloak; omnispex with bottom of cloak) to denote them as sergeant and corporal.

Comments, thoughts and suggestions welcome!

Thanks!

Nice I like them alot. More pics would be great to show off as then we can give some decent feedback but I'm really liking what I see so far.

Cheers

Baron, don't forget to talk about the SEALs and Marines you habitually beat up on 2 and 3 at a time, as you PM'd me about.

Yeah. I'll grab more tonight when I'm home. Poor lighting at night when I took that one, and just using a camera phone left me with limited options. The light of day would likely help with at least one of those problems. ;0)
