So I figured I’d give the game a try despite it being made for “casual” players.

I filled up my battle box with my dwarfs and headed down to the local GW. Haven’t been there in ages since I don’t support a company that would destroy everything I own.

When I show up there’s not a free table to be seen. One 40k game and one AOS game going on.

I ask around about how long they’re gonna be. Both just started.

I start watching the AOS game and it was the Sigmarines vs Tomb Kings.

The Tomb Kings guy was a terrible general and displayed the tactical skill of a chimpanzee with a computer. I kept pointing out what he should do and he wouldn’t listen.

By turn 3 or so it was clear the Sigmarines were gonna wipe him out. So instead of extending his misery I issued a challenge to the Sigmarine general. I wanted to show this guy his new units weren’t all that.

Then they tell me to wait my turn. Like what? I’ve been waiting a half hour for you already to blatantly lose buddy.

Not wanting to cause a fuss I decide to wait out one more turn. I can’t help but laugh at the Tomb Kings guy’s terrible moves. Kid couldn’t even pick the correct order of combats to fight in. I pointed out how he could have saved himself some hits but some people are just stuck in their own world and don’t want advice to better themselves.

At the end of turn 4 I say enough is enough. Are you playing me or what?

Sigmarine guy then drops the bomb. He’s leaving after the game ends. My mouth about hit the floor. Like could you be any less respectful? I’ve been waiting here 45 minutes now for this game I thought we were having and you’re bailing?

I turn to the Tomb King guy and said guess that leaves me and you. Then he says he’s done after this game too.

So I just bought a tank of gas, went to the store that I hate going to, all to be denied a game?

I turned to the manager with an exasperated “WTF” look on my face. He doesn't say anything.

I pick up my stuff and leave.

What a way to advertise your new game.

No wonder AOS is going to fail.

So you went to a store, kept interrupting someone else's game pointing out what one of them was doing wrong, actually laughed at one of them, and then was annoyed that they left after game, despite neither of them actually saying they would play you after?

Um, I really don't blame them for leaving. You were rude, you interrupted them in the middle of the game, and going by the tone of your post, you were probably really condescending towards the TK player. If I were one of the other players, I would've asked you to leave us alone. Have you no social skills?

(also, how about the fact that apparently the OP is pissed off at the GW store because the other players left and failed to "advertise their new game". Just what?)

I agree, what did you expect? It's not like you scheduled anything, maybe they thought you were annoying, waiting for them and correcting them.

I mean this has to be a troll post right? Guy walks into a store he never goes to because the company "destroys everything he owns". He then goes up to some players in the middle of the game, tells them how they should be playing, tells them the game is over in turn 3 and to pack it up so he can play, and then gets mad when those people don't want to game against him next. Seems like a big lack of social skills led to this situation.

But I'm pretty sure I still just fed the troll and feel ashamed.

I can't quite tell if you're trolling since your story is so ludicrous. But on the off chance you're sincere, please allow me to explain to you that you're a complete donkey-cave and that had I been in that store and had it been my game you'd interrupted like that I would have made you very sorry.

At the same time the store is advertising a game, you attempted to bully others into stopping playing so you could despite not having booked a game in advance. If they had allowed that sort of behaviour they may have lost two customers just to humour you.

You got 'shafted' because your attitude/behaviour on the day was appalling.

It's not GW's fault that you were condescending towards your potential opponents. That's on you.
