Hello!
I am new to WH40k and I am looking to make future plans for my army.
I already own the Deathstorm; Shield of Baal and that is all I have along with the Tyranid Codex.
I am looking to create a competitive enough army to face my brothers Skitarii/Cult Mechanicus army as well as being able field at my local game store of around 1500 points.
Any help or tips would be amazing

There is no detachment for the Flyrant.
If a model is part of a Formation Detachment, can't be counted as a Troop Unit from a Combined Arms Detachment. (unless you are playing unbound you should change that)

Well, it looks pretty nice, but the winged Tyrant is a key player, and the current "best build" is two sets of Devourers, and a Thorax hive for 240.

The simplest place to find points is to drop the Mucolids down to x1 each, that frees up 60 points or so. Most folks play with only one Formation, so you might get static, depending on your local "meta", otherwise you'll have 25 points to spend. Add Mucolids back, or buy a Skill like Hive Commander, or Old Enemy, and call it good!
