For those of you have played several games, what is the advantage of having more models?

I'm not seeing why the Sudden Death rules are needed.

You can tie people up quite easily. A big blob with inspiring presence may take ages to shift, and if you have few models can surround you and stop retreat. Can also act to prevent you engaging troops behind them who poke you with range 2-3" weapons and/or shoot.

Also, a lot of factions get bonuses to stats for unit size. 5 zombies is meh (6+/6+/-) but 30+ zombies are scary (3+/3+/-). These would do high levels of attrition to smaller elite units (especially when you can summon more lol)

More models = bonuses, in most cases. I'm running a Night Goblin army and I have a blob of 50. With spears, they wound on a 2+ when there's more than 30, rather than 4+ as standard. Inspiring presence on the unit and you're causing problems.

That's the only blob I have, though. If possible, I place them on last so I can count models and try to avoid Sudden Death. I don't like the rule, but I can understand why it's in there.

3,500 (and building) ASM
3,000 Blood Angels
1500 Eldar (abandoned)

AoS - Beastclaw Raiders, Ironjawz, Night Goblins, and Ogors - Destruction remains unvanquished!
