Hi Guys

Second time newbie here (not played in about 13 years), I'm just starting up again with Dark Angels, I've had a read of the rulebook and the codex, I've got my first models being delivered this week.

I'm wanting to play entirely WYSIWYG, I don't see any reason not to, but before I start any gluing, I have a potentially stupid question regarding wargear:

Are there any rules against running Space Marines (Dark Angels Company Veterans in particular) with both a Boltgun AND Chainsword? The wording of the codex implies that they can wield both at no extra points cost, but would that not give them both the extra melee attack AND 24" range?

If I'm being completely moronic, I'd appreciate if you could be civil about it

Thanks a bunch!

A boltgun isn't a CCW so you don't have 2x CCWs to get the extra attack.

Ah so you need to be wielding 2x CCW to get an extra attack? I thought wielding any melee weapon gave an extra melee attack over a model with zero melee weapons. So there is no advantage to using a Boltgun and Chainsword? (Aesthetics aside, since I prefer the look over bolt pistols)

That is correct.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
