Possibly the MG08. Tripod HMG teams are common in German lists asnd while the MG42 is a one size fits all solution Battlefront use the MG42 to represent MG squads rather than specific LMG teams with a firepower of 5 or more.
This for game balance, we get that, Squad Leader also downplayed the MG42 as a basic LMG unit upgrade token with limited firepower.

The MG08 is needed in game for heavy firepower, when in reality it was there for units that didnt have MG42's issued.
