I have run this assault list against quite a few armies, and gotten pretty good results. I'd love any input on it.


DP
(MoT, Wings, PA, Spell Familiar, Psyker lvl 3, Prophet of the Voices)
I go for 1 spell from Tze (and get the primaris ofc), 1 from Malefic, and 1 from Bio or Telep.
It's all about the rare combo of having 3++ from PotV mixed with Cursed Earth, for 2++ with a reroll. I have done it 3 times so far, once also with invisibility. Great fun. Even with other spells he can dish out good dmg, and gets Shrouded or Beastform from the PotV.

Hey, I like the list, but you only get the primaris if you roll all your dice on the one tree. E.g. If a Mastery Level 3 rolls all powers into Telepathy, then he will get the three powers plus the primaris.
If you split your powers across different trees, you only get the power you rolled, not the primaris too.

I am more of a fan of Cutters than tenderals, but if you think there will be more troops than armour I understand.

my only concern would be the 350 points invested (maybe 340, dont remember what MoT cost) if you get your rolls he becomes very hard to kill, but thats a lot of hoping. If cursed eath was the primus I would feel better about this but you could get stuck rolling a summoning result.

CSM daemon princes and Sorcerer's auto-know the Primaris from their God.

How does PotV give you a 3++ though?

Never mind- I realized how as soon as I typed that.

Prophet of the Voices gives the following D3 every turn:

1. Shrouded
2. become Beast
3. 3++ and Rending (and IF you get Cursed Earth it becoms 2++, with the usual Tzeentch rerolls of failed saves on 1)

Also, PotV gives Fleet, that means reroll on charge range.

All of these are extremely good on a DP. I have had so much use of PotV, it is silly. I recommend trying it. But of course, never forget that the DP has T5 and W4, so quite the glass cannon. Great fun though.

Yeah, but like was mentioned above w/o rolling Cursed Earth the build loses some potency. Also, the DP is nigh-unkillable granted, but how much hurt can he reasonably dish out?

I also am a fan of Magna Cutters of Tendrils, but that's because I run Maulers as dedicated anti-armor hunters.
