Hey guys! I'm new to dakkadakka but I'm just wanting some critique and help building a 1500 point Daemonkin list.
Here's what I've got so far:
Blood Host Detatchment
Slaughtercult
HQ:
Chaos Lord
Blood Forged Armor, 2 Axes of Khorne, Sigil of Corruption
Elites:
5xPossessed
Rhino, Icon of Wrath
Troops:
7xCultists with autoguns
Champion has autogun and shotty
7xCultists with autoguns
Champion has autogun and shotty
9x Bloodletters, Bloodreaper
7x CSM, Melta, Rhino, x7 CCWs
7x CSM, Melta
Gorepack Formation:
3x Chaos Bikes, 2xMelta
3x Chaos Bikes, 2x Melta
10x Flesh Hounds
War Engine:
Soul Grinder, Phlegm Bombardment
Total: 1500pts
Not looking for a cheesefest, just a fun army to take, but still trying to work around my buddy's Ultramarines and Dark Angels.
As I said, comments are welcome!

Jesus that CL is expensive! What unit is he going with, the possessed or the CSM? I would suggest the possessed for a tough meat shield but you're prolly sticking them with the CSM for the added punch. Also your possessed really don't benefit much from the Icon, I would reconsider taking it on them and instead taking it on the CSM melee unit.

I was actually thinking of putting him in the Rhino with the Possessed, but now that you mention it, I just might put the icon on the melee CSMs and run him with that.

What is your strategy with this list?

My strategy was to have a few units do the whole Khorne idea of "Run up to it and stabby" while the cultists park back on an objective while the meltas and Soul Grinder provide AV. Looking back on it, I could probably dial back on the number of Meltas, replace the melee CSMs with another group of letters, drop a group of cultists, make them base squads with pistols, and fit a BT with the Great Axe.

cultists with pistols are amazing, drop autoguns
I find cultists are better than bloodletters - if theyre charged they get 3 attacks each (2 weapons and counterattack) and overwatch...bloodletters only get 1
Always take 2 one man spawn units - fast and cheapest blood tithe point
Save points no rhino for posessed, make use of their fleet and run them up screened by the dogs ready to countercharge...u waste a whole turn just disembarking them.

Drop the autoguns on at least one unit of cultists, drop the icon from the possessed (but keep the rhino), and replace one of the Chaos Lord's axes with a Power Fist. Not only do you save 5 points, but you have the option of hitting at double strength (albeit at I1) instead of regular strength. They are both specialist weapons, so you still get the extra attack.
