Can a master of ordnance choose to shoot his weapons inside a vehicle that doesn't have a firepoint due to him not requiring line of sight?

No .

There are no rules that would allow a model to fire out of a vehicle with no firepoints.

Not needing LOS isn't sufficient... you need a rule that actually allows him to shoot while in the transport.

The issue here is not the Line of Sight requirement, but the inability to measure Range.

Measuring of Range is very important for the Shooting Sequence, it is carried out first when you go to pick a Target and again when you go to Fire a Weapon. This is done by using a measuring stick to confirm the distance between the Bases of the Models is less then the Range on the Profile. As it is not physically possible to measure Range to Units that are off the Table, such as those Embarked in a Transport, we require permission to carry out those measurements to something other then the Model. For Shooting attacks involving Embarked Units, this permission is found within the Fire Point Rule. This Rule allows us to measure Line of Sight and Range to a Fire Point on the Transport Vehicle instead of a Model, solving the problem of the Model being off the Table. If that Fire Point does not exist, such is the case here, it once more becomes impossible to confirm the Range so no Target can be selected and no Weapon can be fired.

Yes, this measuring process is still required of Weapons with the Range of Infinity.

8th made it so I can no longer sway Tau onto the side of Chaos, but they will eventually turn aside from their idea of the Greater Good to embrace the Greatest of pleasures.
