Wow, I took a bit of a break and decided to tackle something huge,a Morkanuat. Take a look!

Any suggestions on how I should paint the big body? I could keep alternating between the tiger and winter camo schemes or I could do something different for the torso. Couldn't decide!

This is aweeesome!!
Loving the camo, worked really well airbrushed on. What templates did you use? just generic shapes? or all custom made for this job? Personally I cut mine from acetate, but wondered what you were doing.

As for the rest of it! I have no idea what you could do.
I feel like maybe some more uniform patterns? the fear being if you do the WHOLE model like that it wont have anything to tie it together or to draw your eye.

You could go with the more stable blood axe patterns? focussing the camo and patterns to the edges to give the centre of the body a more solid look. Maybe you could do a real big blood Axe emblem?

I used Anarchymodels pre-cut frisket designs. http://www.anarchymodels.co.uk/

I think I've settled on the final scheme. The lower torso is going to be a drab military green with yellow. The doors are going to be the previous camo patterns, but the big ork skull will be in black I think.

I'll be adding blood axe symbols on the hull, but it's fairly obvious who is manning this guy.

Glad you decided to go with a different scheme than what you have currently used can't wait to see!

This is cool, I like the mixed camo idea, like it's a camo made out of camos... only a Blood Axe.

The funny thing about mixing all these camo schemes is that it works in a way. It'd be really hard to tell what the shape of this thing actually is at a distance.

Yeh that front looks sweet!
I really like how that turned out. The face stands out really well and gives it a nice bold feel

What are your next stages?
Do you do metalwork/battle damage? I'd be interested in knowing your whole process

Well, I had the right leg to finish but my airbrushes both stopped spraying last night. I'm going to be dead in the water for a little while for now.

The next step would be to add metallics, then varnish the whole model with gloss coat. Decals get added here. Another gloss coat and washes get added. After that it's a full coat and time for weathering. This is where I'd add chips and scratches. Finally add weathering pigments.

Thanks folks! I'm hoping to have it all wrapped up before the end of the month. Quick update today though. I did the initial washes and then the metals.

Hey, thanks! There's a few things I want to improve on but it'll have to wait for a rainy day. The metals are a bit too uniform and I didn't get time for weathering powders.
