Hi Guys,
I haven't posted on here in a while, so if I seem familiar that might be why. Before I write this, I actually haven't properly played Warmachine. I've had an introduction game and I've spent today screwing around on the War Room and watching youtube battle reports. I always played a Deathstar in 40k, and I was challenged to make one in WM. The obvious choice for me was the Winterguard, which seem to be very capable with help from Irusk's Fire for Effect (in addition to Martial Discipline) and Kovnik Josef's For the Motherland.
This list allows me to run models I like (widowmakers, and you can't have decided to play khador without being wooed by their Warjacks) alongside something I can see being exceptionally reliable at dealing with an average chance to hit DEF 20 and a decent chance at hitting for 22.5 POW, which would be a decent chip on most of the target's I've seen, when you're talking about 15 blokes. Is trying to run two winterguard units silly? I figure it means that if the one being buffed by Kovnik is reduced, he can skip gleefully over to the other squad and perform the same feat again.
WC:
Irusk2, using Tier 2 of the Art of War
Warjacks:
1 Devastator (9pt)
Solos:
Kovnik Jozef Grigorovich (2pt)
Widowmaker Marksman (2pt)
Units:
1+9 Winterguard Infantry W/ Officer and Standard, 3x Rocketeers (11pt)
1+9 Winterguard Infantry W/ Officer and Standard, 3x Rocketeers (11pt) (extra officer is provided by the Tier list)
1+3 Widowmakers (4pt)
1+5 Battle Mechaniks (3pt)
Says it comes to 40pt (35+5), I don't quite understand the concept of gaining points depending on what commander you take, but I won't complain. Is this standard faire or something I should remove?
Critiques and Comments welcome. Let me know if I stumbled onto some generic netlist, it'll just tell me I'm on the right track.
Thanks,
Scipio.
