So, I've tried looking into this, but couldn't find the answers I'm looking for. Basically, there are two questions I can't find an answer for:

1) Did the DA have a war cry that was different than the post heresy one?

2) We're they always so hard on traitors/trying to get them to repent before putting a bullet in their head?

Sorry if this is common knowledge, I haven't read any of the HH series, so my knowledge of the Legions is lacking.

1. They used "For the Lion" and "For Caliban" in some of the books.
2. No Traitors to make repent.

Not really. When they're fighting the Night Lords, it's just a war. I think the 'Repent!' only really became a thing some time after the Heresy.

Ok, thanks. Despite what people say about the later novels, I should give the HH series a try since it could give me a nice bit of info that would make questions like these less frequent, and I hear the earlier ones are rather good.

The hh dark angel novels are not actually limited to the hh, they are book 5/6 in the astelan series, I'd suggest chronological order starting with the dark angel series, then reading the hh novels, as they all tie in and have some of the same characters, if you read the hh novels first, it will take a lot of shock factor and intrigue away.

Its worth it, if only to flesh out the fluff
