I want to create a not very competitive Vostroyan/AdMech themed army that combines IG with the two AdMech factions.

Unfortunately, pure shooting is boring to me, so I was thinking it would be a "relentless advance" themed army that would roll forward, take out heavy threats with shooting and mop up in melee.

I have a large contingent of Vostroyan infantry models, and that means I have enough for a 50 man blob and two command squads but only if I have 5x heavy weapon teams (I have converted the heavy bolters to Lascannons.

I am going to be multiplying the power of the blob to stand up in cc, but most critically I would love to grant them relentless. However out of all the models in IoM I am not finding one that has Slow and Purposeful or an equivalent! The best I can do is an IG warlord trait I can't get reliably or a psychic power which is even less reliable. Am I missing anything?

If you don't mind/are able to go up to 4 detachments, an Ordo Malleus inquistor in Terminator armor can attach to your units. I've been doing some fun stuff with that and lots of Plasma.

Relentless doesn't confer to the unit. S&P does though.

I don't think you're missing anything either. Relentless is one of those extremely valuable rules and it shouldn't be given out to blobs. I don't think there's a reliable way to give that around. If there was, Autocannon squads would be WAY more common.

Having an SM Librarian cast Endurance on the unit is the only way I know of.

And since you have to roll for that, Loth is your best bet for his auto selection. After that, Tiggy, then just normal Libbys

Yep this. The 4+ fnp is just as good as the relentless too for a blob.

In fact Loth is excellent for this roll as he can also cast enfeeble on the unit your blob is challenging making their firepower more efficient. ATSKNF is also pretty handy for guard blobs. Then he can add to the firepower of the unit with Smite and Life Leech or instead of Life Leech, either Warp Speed or Iron Arm to help in assault.

Endurance. I've pretty much poured over the entire IoM to try and find a cheap way to get 4x Relentless Volleyguns onto a MT command squad.

I didn't realize SnP conferred though. Are there any ICs with this rule?

A Junior Officer can issue a Forwards, For the Emperor Order which will let a unit Shoot then Run. It's about as close as you're going to get.

Hmmm. So endurance is the only way to go then.

While SMs are good for rolls, inquisitors ring more psychic punch for fewer strings attached. Adding both Coteaz and a regular inquisitor gives me access to a bunch of power multipliers with 3 rolls on Biomancy if I want. And I can bring minimum strength henchmen squads to add more psychic dice for 30 points a pop.

Nah, Inq doesn't roll on biomancy

Ask FW to give Bikes to AdMech and IG/AM. IG used to have this:

No it doesn't, terminator armor gives the wearer relentless not SnP.

I'm kinda surprised they haven't made a marine independent character in centurion armor.

I mean, he is grossly overpriced, and overall, a complete piece of crap, but isn't that one of his special rules/warlord traits?

I am not totally sure, but that is an option.
