Ill chuck out something then, see where it goes.

Some things don't add up or quite make sense, mainly the infantry platoon, but whatever. FWIW, you can only have 1 heavy weapon per guardsmen squad and autocannons cost 10 and medi-pack is 15 so the PCS would be 50 (the medi pack isn't worth it as well, so much instant deaths T3, and they're kinda worthless anyway so who cares).

I know mcuh about knights, so will leave that there. But you have a few tanks and could make better use of them. Take a unit of 2 Russes as your HQ, 1 as a punisher with Pask and MM sponsons and 1 as an execution with PC sponsons. HB sponsons on standard LRBTs aren't worthwhile, ordinance issues. Then could just run them as bare LRBTs. One as a demolisher could be worth a shot, doubling out the toughness of the bikers to cancel FNP but at 24" its difficult to land multiple hits on them. At least you can expect these guys to be coming to you so outranging shouldn't be much of an issue.

For vets in a chimera, you want some special weapons on them. Not just lasguns, its a bit of a waste otherwise. For doctrines I can't ever justify demolitions. Grenadiers can be alright, but Forward Sentries is usually nice, cover bonus and disordered charges. Diddly. Even though you have a few chimeras, I wouldn't look to put everyone in one. There will probably be some drop pod meltas or something from the salamanders so getting a blob of 30 or so guys would be good to wrap around the tanks at the start. Keep the meltaguns out of 6" range. An alternative could be to take a skyshield landing pad and put stuff on that. Not necessarily the valkyrie, could be tanks or whatever to get 4++. Your current HQ could be dropped in favour of pask. Depending on how points work out could afford to loose the Valkyrie, cant see it doing too much. Or if you have a few extra take it as a vendetta instead.

General idea

HQ - pask + executioner & priest to go with blob (or commissar if its your taste)

Troops - at least 30 man blob with some MLs or ACs & flamers, couple of plasma vets squads in chimeras (no fire barrels)

FA - vendetta if affordable

HS - LR demolishers

LOW - knight

or something along those lines, I don't know what else you have.

If your attack is going too well, you have walked into an ambush

The easy way is always mined

Fire Barrels are almost never worth it. There's many other upgrades to take before them.

For your Vet squads you should be taking advantage of their 3 man per unit special weapons ability. x3 plasma or x3 melta is a solid choice, and would compliment the Grendiers (plasma overheat saves) and Demo doctrines well. Make sure those squads stay on target and focused and they'll perform well.

Leman Russ standard battle tanks are great, but 4 seems like overkill at 2K points. Better to mix it up with some variety in their main guns. Maybe an Excecutioner for anti-MEQ or Eradicator for anti-cover. Demolisher's always a fun choice for anti-ANYTHING given it gets close enough.
