If you become a Daemon Prince from the Chaos boon table it says you lose special rules and wargear. Was there ever any FAQ anywhere of this effecting being a psyker (like if Ahriman turned into a Daemon Prince, then in fluff, he would still be a psyker right)? I know fluff doesnt always mean rules but I just wanted to check here. Thanks

No. The rules on chaos boons are utterly awful.

That brings up another question: if a character with champion of chaos dies in a challenge but kills the challengee at the same time, does he resolve boons before actually dying (let us say he gets +1 wound or something else relevant)?

They happen simultaneously, from memory, so that would depend on whose turn it is as to what can be resolved first. There was a thread on this a while back...at least one. Cannot recall when however.

I'd houserule that he get's Ascended, but still takes any spillover unsaved wounds. *By which I mean if he gets Spawned or Prince'd

I don't think so.
Iirc, Boon happens after the enemy character is Removed as a Casualty. Both models are removed at the same time - before you roll.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

I agree with him. The CC at same I are resolved simultaneously, you decide wich order (if that is relevant in any way) but both are removed during the "Allocating wounds/removing casualties" step of the CC, the roll is after that step has finished.

I've always treated it like a chaos mark and had it carry over. Unless they got hit with a brick there wasn't much more mental damage from the transformation.

One fluff reason for the loss of the Psyker Special Rule, though I do find it strange to lose Special Rules: Psykers tap into the Warp energy to manipulate the material realm Demons are creatures of Warp energy that twist the material realm While it might seem a minor difference from an external observer, it is likely a huge change for someone who has gone through ascension and they may need time to adapt.

8th made it so I can no longer sway Tau onto the side of Chaos, but they will eventually turn aside from their idea of the Greater Good to embrace the Greatest of pleasures. |

If anything it should make it easier, like drawing power from a battery and then switching to an electrical outlet.

What you are suggesting would blow capacitors within an electronic device... proving my point quite well, I think. PS: Before you mention a laptop, or similar device capable of running of a battery while recharging from an outlet, please keep in mind that brick like thing included with the power cord. This adaptor is specifically designed to step-down the power, also convert it into direct current, in order to prevent the damage that would be caused by plugging it straight into an outlet. Trust me, I have done some very stupid things such as switching a Power Supply Unit from 240 to 120 while it was connected to a 240 power source... yes, I knew what would happen and did it anyway as I am an idiot. Think of being ascending to be a Daemon Prince to be the same as that switch being flicked, things go pop and suddenly you owe your brother a new PSU....

I guess changing the material of the wiring would have been a better analogy.
Bummer on the power thing. I'd assume that the gods would throw in the adapter along with the better power source. Surely they wouldn't give all that power to watch it explode...... actually they might.
At any rate CSM have a bad enough time with demonic ascension. No reason to further batter them down.
