So I started collecting CSM basically off of my love of all things Zombies, so of course I began with Typhus and a giant blob of Zomzoms.

But I actually have been pretty well enjoying something different than what I have so far, and am looking to get some more things. I have Blight Drones that I've been using with my Daemons, but hey, they're here so I'll continue along that path. Daemon Princes too, though I dunno if I'll put one in or a different HQ.

What are other good things to grab? I picked up 3 Oblits secondhand (nice metal ones) and am looking forward to using them. Are Nurgle Bikers still a thing, if I attach a Biker Lord/Sorcerer? Should I look into Havocs? I'm not really looking to go too vehicle heavy with these guys, to be honest.

I was also looking to pick up a Brass Scorpion of Khorne (doesn't fit with Nurgle, but eh) to have something combating the other superheavies/gargantuans that occasionally pop up in the store. Anyone have experience with/against them? It seems fairly decent, but obviously doesn't stand up to the Wraithknight (but then, what does?). I have a Knight that I can convert into a Chaos Knight too.

The chaos knight has a lot going for it being a daemon and having void shields and a D weapon and dirge casters and it's really freakin cool. The brass scorpion is kind of overshadowed by how good the chaos titan is (or maybe I'm just still butthurt over not being able to take one in khorne daemonkin).

I looked at the pdf. where does it get the powerful void shield upgrade? all i see is the weak ion shield.

I wished they hurrh up and published the Chaos Crusader, Warden, and Gallant. The Dirge caster on the Gallant makes more sense.

The Daemon Knight of X is just too expensive. Like the IWND is 20pts more than the Loyalist equivalent.

However if Daemon Knight of X, Y, Z confered 5++ invulsave then its worth it. Watch as a IK get banished by a 40pt Grey Knight. I wish we could spam a sanctuary upgrade of 5++ and have it in combat.

Also what would make Chaos IK better is giving them the free option to detonate their core reactor to create a controlled apocalyptic blast. Like you ignore the scatter direction and roll 2d6 and get to move up to the result or lower and place in any direction.

I'm sorry I mispoke, it gets ion shields like other marine titans. Also, yes being a daemon does in fact still confer the 5++, so while you give one of your sides 4++ your other sides are still somewhat protected making these things absolutely bonkers. From the PDF: "A model with this special rule gains the Daemon..." meaning it's getting the 5++ in range AND melee.

That blast idea is so amazingly broken but neat. I can't imagine ever needing to do that with how few wounds you would be taking.

ok i did more search.

http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?412661-Chaos-Knight-daemon-save

and yes, daemon of xyz would confer Daemon usr. So that means a Grey Knight or what ever can banish it and smite it and get PE. Whoop dedo.

I remember a time when Daemon of X did not make it a Daemon. Or some lingo do to some guys lawyering.

Well one of the nice things is that you can Grimoire it and give it a 3++ with a 2++ on the Ion Shield facing. Can't do that if it's not a Daemon. Also Cursed Earth type things. Basically any buffs that make Daemon units good work on it if you buy the "Daemon of X" upgrade.

But at that point, we're talking about a Daemon army or at the very least a CSM/Daemon army, which is fine, I suppose, as I have quite a bit of Daemons as it is.
