Spied this on Miniature Market today:

https://www.miniaturemarket.com/catalog/product/view/id/47320/s/cat27800/

Couldn't find any other info though. Last official info is from last year as far as I could tell. Anyone have any more recent news?

Edit: Found some pics of minis from Gencon 2014:

Thanks for posting that. I heard about that game two or three years ago (whenever the current 5th edition shadowrun came out) but hadn't heard anything since. I figured with the way the Leviathans game went down (pun intended) that Catalyst just decided to stop their nascent minis production.

The troll with the minigun looks familiar
Did Reaper release it? Or just something similar?

KK, are you thinking of this dude, also from CMON?

He's probably thinking of this guy by Reaper.

In any case, variety is nice. Trolls with really big guns are a common theme in shadowrun so it's nice to have a choice.

Ohhh, that one is nice. And I echo your point about variety.

Shadowrun has an enormous potential as a mmorpg. I am glad somebody has started at least with the miniatures.

I am selling an original "Iron Warriors" painting by Karl Kopinski: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/121232313078?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

Now if we could get the Cthulhutech:Shadow Wars miniature's game running as well we could have an unholy miniature mash-up going on.

Sprawl Gangers has been teetering on the brink of existence for quite some time now.Really not keen on the miniatures showcased at Gencon they are way to Pink Mohawk whilst I am definitely a mirrorshades player. Was hoping for a modular plastic kit in the vein of Malifaux's "Into the Breach" or the Wargames Factory Survivors. A lot of gamers could get some use out of a well designed "Cyberpunk Operators" modular set.

Last I heard sprawl gangers was sort of on hold as they were having problems getting the models produced to a good enough standard

Heh, I on the other hand think they look brilliant ^_^. Seeing as the game is named "sprwal gangers" (or will be, if it ever ends up coming out), maybe the mirrorshade look would be a tad out of place. But then again, I'd also love to see modular kits, those would be useful for a great many applications, and it's also nice for skirmish games where personalization is important/interesting.

By the way, did the Into the Breach multipart plastics ever come out?

If only Prodos could get their gak together, I'd recommend it to them. They do very detailed resins.

I was part of the beta test when it was going on... a year ago?

It is from Catalyst so things take forever from them. Look how long it took to release Leviathans... 3 or 4 years?

I would love a shadowrun mmo.

edit: just checked my email it was 2 and half years ago I tested it. 2013. Damn.

And I'd guess Leviathans being less than a big hit probably took the financial wind out of their sails a bit too

They sold out there entire first run.

Problem was manufacturing hiccups left and right. They really didn't have the know how. Interview with Randall Bills said that manufacturing the minis for the game was a nightmare. They eventually got war games factory to produce them which came out great.

Wish Sprawl gangers could be produced by WGF, malifaux minis are great. Having multi part kits with different equipment and guns could really fit the system.

I thought the story was that they got strong armed by the Chinese factory for geopolitical reasons about how China was portrayed in the game? That was the rumor that my gencon birdie says he got from the source.

Didn't see the picture....

Really wish they would have came out with the figs, like... 20 years ago.

Been waiting on the game for a few minutes, either way. Good looking figures.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

That was just one of many things that lead to the delays of Leviathans.

It's talked about in one of Randall's blogs from 2012 IIRC

http://monstersinthesky.com/

"At the start of the week I was told by the manufacturer that if we didn’t change the color of Taiwan on our 1910 “alternate history” map (which was shaded to show it was under Japanese control at that time…just as it was in the real world from the latest 1800s until the mid 1900s) to match the color of China on our map that the game might not be allowed export. So after tweeting and laughing myself silly at the ludicrousness of it all, I simply said “what ever, change it”. Crisis averted."

Edit it is from 2011

The multi-part malifaux adventurer sets are list as in stock on waylandgames so I guess they are on general release, its not a game line I follow particularly closely. Trouble with Sprawl Gangs sticking close to the setting is that you would need a lot of distinct models for the various Policlubs and street gangs and I can't see how the Gencon showcased models are meant to be anything other than Shadowrunners. Whoever Catalyst have got to do these prototype models has done a cracking job of capturing the old school Paul Bonner art style in the character designs its just never been a style that I have cared for.

I think I read somewhere that CGL decided it would be too risky / expensive for them to release the game along with a sufficiently big enough range of minis to support it.. and that instead, they would release small packs of minis to support the RPG (no doubt at the rate of 4 minis per year) and once the pool was large enough they would release the Sprawl Ganger rules.

I don't know if anything will come of it but the game formerly known as Shadowrun Online was funded via KS and was supposed to come with some minis if you pledged high enough or purchased them as an add-on. They recently announced that they wouldn't be able to deliver on those minis due to the cost of producing them (complicated by the fact their license didn't allow them to sell them and recoup any of those costs , only 'give them away' as part of the KS).. and since Prodos have already helped out several other projects with their minis, I reached out to them to see if there was anything they could do.

Of course, helping Cliffhanger to produce let's say 400 x 6 Shadowrun minis, for example, is not the same thing as partnering with CGL to make Shadowrun minis for realises.. but it IS a good stepping stone.

For the love of doG, just please give the minis license to Reaper and we can Kickstart this whole thing.

Or, you know, to someone. I'm quite sure there's a demand for good Shadowrun-like minis out there, if only for the RPG (and pretty sure not "only" for that, too).

A Necromunda-like skirmish level cyberpunk game? Nah, there's no one interested in something like that! [/sarcasm]

CGL touched on this during their "What's New" session at GenCon...they are planning to build up the necessary skills/talent in house. They are very concerned about being dependent on "third parties"...lots of history there.

AJ, the irony is that CGL is a third party. But with this news I officially give up any hope they will release anything. They are having problems putting out books. Time to just move on.

Oh, I'm very aware of that...

Not sure I understand your comments about them releasing books, but their track record with minis is less that ideal. I'm pretty sure that the samples they showed last year at GenCon (above) were done by the guys at Greenbrier Games, though no idea what's happened behind the scenes since.

Sorry for the threadmancy, but for those who felt excited about Sprawlgangers, I would love to present Gangs of the Undercity.
I'm a Shadowrun writer and developer, and a long time wargamer, so our new company, Fragging Unicorns, has decided to quench the thirst of those longing for a cyberpunk/fantasy skirmish game. I'd love for you to check it out. Kickstarter launches July 15.
