As title says. So far I have a completed ogre army, and an undead army in progress. I want my last army to be mounted specialists. What army has the best mounted style, basileans, KoM, or something else?

In First Edition, KoM knight hordes were very strong. Very high nerve combined with headstrong makes them a good base to build around, and they also have sargeants and mounted scouts for a front wave that's nimble.

Now Basilean mounted paladins might be the unit of choice. 10 pts more than knights for a horde, with Iron Resolve and an extra pip of Nerve. Sarges are cheaper and a bit tougher than panther lancers, but they hit faster and harder with vicious, and have a bit more Nerve.

Two tweaks to the KoW main rules hurt cavalry in 2nd edition: 1) a unit only gets the bonus for thundering charge if the unit's charge wasn't hindered or disordered. A hindered charge is any that went through difficult terrain or an obstacle, and a disordered charge is made the turn after suffereing combat damage. Cavalry now fight more like they did in WFB, in that if they lose the charge, their effectiveness does drop.

When is that expected to drop? I need to start figuring out how to organize my Brets for KoW and the primary issue is determining the optimal unit size for knights.

It's hard to imagine them being dramatically different from other knight armies, which means you'll want a mix of hordes (2 ranks of 10) and regiments (2 ranks of 5). I thought I read that this list will be pseudo-Arthurian, so I can see them having a range of "knights" that include lighter, nimble units and very elite paladins.

Here is the link to the beta lists, bearing in mind some changes may be made before they are finalised

The Brotherhood.

Seems to have an aquatic theme.

The new Knights list looks like it'd be good for an all cav army given there's a good few different orders with assorted rules (Regenerating knights anyone?) and if i'm reading the rule right, Valiant lets them be inspiring to units near them except themself (so as long as your not leaving lone units out to dry, they're basically always inspired).

GENERATION 9: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

I read it that the valiant rule only effects units without the valiant rule, ie men at arms type units with Villeins in their title. The battle standard bearer type chap, the Exemplar Redeemer does have very inspiring and the Grail Knights have ordinary level inspiring so most units could be covered in their area effect.

yeah, this seems not only like the most one-to-one mapping of a WFB faction to a Mantic one (salamanders and water elementals aside...), it's also probably the best Brettonian list I've seen in a long time.

The water elemental theme is a bit odd, but I'm sure I can think of something to use for models. If I decide to build this, of course...

That'd make more sense in regards to Valiant actually much like the Angelic rules were for Those Other Knights, never mind me! Still, that's a LOT of potential native inspiring shenanigans all things considered.
