What different LR variants work well in a full squadron together? Or is it better to just have single-type squadrons? I'm trying to optimize effectiveness against different targets. I know the whole "LRBTs are the best general purpose" yada yada but I kinda want to get creative with it.

A lot of it has to do with price.. if you're going to be fielding a ton of tanks, erradicators come in handy -- super cheap, ignores cover. That's usually the route i take with Pask/Tank commander. I think generally you want to keep range/role pretty similar.. anti-infantry, anti-tank... the erradicator is a nice fill in for any anti-infantry/light armor tank. If you're bringing tank squadrons, they'll get expensive quickly, especially if you start adding on sponsons. Another thing to consider is techpriests.. their version of Blessing of the Marine Spirit lets the tanks split fire... I prefer squadrons of 2 tanks... if pask is the only tank(s) in the formation, i'd go a Pask-isher or Pask-cutioner with two "buddy" erradicators. Two demolishers work well together. I think most of the other tank variants are redundant, as you can get their function for cheaper elsewhere (see vanquisher, auto-cannon variants).

If possible don't. Keep each one in a separate slot. Go dual CAD, usually you've enough troops to split it up, unless going straight platoon guard perhaps.

Only time squadrons happen are when they have to. Like HQs or lack of HS slots.

Eradicators can be okay tacked onto the sides of other units. Cheap, an ignores cover option and can chuck on sponsons to cover some other avenues, like plasma cannons. The eradicator does compete with the wyvern though. For straight ignores cover template efficiency, the wyvern comes out on top. But if you have a heap of russes the eradicators work for armour saturation. In general though, with the exception of tank commander units, I'd usually keep squadrons the same.

I find the the LRBT isnt really general purpose at all. If you're shooting meqs, cool, any other situation there's better options.

If your attack is going too well, you have walked into an ambush

The easy way is always mined

Eradicators, Exterminators and Punishers could probably be mixed in with each other, considering they all fill a mainly anti-infantry role that's not relying on low AP.

Exterminators and Executioners could probably be mixed to combine S7 shooting (put Plasma Sponsons on the Exterminator) to make a decent all-round vehicle/infantry threat.

A Battle Tank could probably be mixed in with anything, with its jack-of-all, master-of-nothing cannon.

But ideally you'll want to minimise squadrons wherever possible, and if you have to squadron keep them the same variant.
