A couple of UFC fighters go to MACE and take part in some USMC training, pretty entertaining.

Was expecting hand-to-hand rather than an asymmetric scenario with weapons, but fairly entertaining regardless.

Thats the difference between combat and fighting.

Hand to hand "matches" (IE duels) are far less emphasized than is "pit" training against multiple opponents. Usually this focuses on blows to vital areas, joint destruction, as well as using literally anything that can function as a weapon. This is going only on my limited encounters with MCMAP trained folks.

Sure, but if the fun is supposedly about watching one group of people who society idolizes as being ultimate badasses (UFC fighters) get utterly demolished by another group, it would be more fitting I think if the asskicking were to happen on a turf that they were more familiar with.

As far as sheer entertainment is concerned, I'd rather watch GSP get trounced by a Marine in the octagon than a knife-duel in the forest.

So you want a duel, with rules, under controlled conditions, at a pre-established place & time, with both opponents having full knowledge of each other's martial skill sets?

Meh. I think the knife fight in the forest is much more realistic.

Except UFC fighters are not trained in that at all. It is kinda like me taking a plumber and asking him to rewire my house.

They are very good at their job, but their job involves fighting people with no rules and with weapons involves, not fighting in a ring.

I am thinking this quickly turned from UFC fighters getting the chance to train with Marines to people trying to defend UFC for losing in a style of combat they have no training in.

Just enjoy watching these experts in their field get their butts kicked
