Hi there. I'm a complete newbie to the hobby who got his first box of space orks (and a codex, and the necessary equipment to paint them) just 2 weeks ago.

Since then I've been obsessing over their painting, learning through plenty of mistakes and painstakingly slow progress.
Nevertheless I'm loving it, but I believe I am still a very long way from even considering having a play session of the game.

About me: I'm 30 (actually that was the trigger. My birthday was the excuse I needed to get started into warhammer), will be married soon and I love everything that is DIY, from woodworking to electronics and robotics.

Everytime I see a conversion or a player made structure I get giddy, which makes me believe this is a hobby that will get me hooked for many years to come.

I am planning on making a forum post detailing my rookie painting adventures regularly(I'm painting for at least a couple hours everyday even though the progress is minimal), since that will hopefully help me get some critics and feedback from those of you who are truly experienced in the art.

Hi. Welcome to Dakka

TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."
Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum
