Hello to you all! My name is Rob, 55 year of age, I'm a early retired (I have a bad health - suffering from small fiber neuropathy) professional 3D fantasy/scifi illustrator and completely new to the world of orcs and goblins but not new to modelling, scatchbuilding and painting...

After having build 1:35 scale WWII militairy dioramas as a (serious) hobby for about 25 years, I had enough of the WWII subject and started looking for something different.

After a while, through my search on the internet, I found the Games Workshop website and got interested in the fantastic looking Orcs, Goblins and other miniatures
and ordered the Savage Orc Boys, Maggoth Lord: Morbidex Twiceborn, Putrid Blightkings, Gretchin and Meganobz to make start...

I also ordered a great amount of Citadel/Vallejo paint; never had painted with acrylics before in my life and I must say: that's a big difference with the Humbrol enamels and oil paint I had used in the past
But after doing some research and a lot of trial and error, I now getting the hang of it; I very much like the quick drying times and the use of the wet palette...

I'm planning to do a Orc /goblin diorama as an entree for a modelling show and recently discovered the beautiful miniatures from both Kromlech and Puppetswars, so I ordered from both shops; Puppetswars (I love the Orc War School bus and Orc plane!)
at the start of august; and a week ago from Kromlech (the Soviet Goblins and the impressive Orc Warchief in massive Juggernaut Mecha-Armour are great!) ! However, still waiting for my orders to arrive...

So I have much fun and I enjoy my new modelling hobby and hope to show you guys what I have created when I have finished some of my projects in the nearby future!

Well, that's it, thank you for reading my introduction and to you all I want to say: keep enjoying this wonderful creative hobby!

Cheers, Rob

Hi. Welcome to Dakka

TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."
Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
