Subject: Hovering Flyers Arriving From Reserve

Hello All
I am looking to field a Stormraven full of lovely power weapon vanguard vets but I have not fielded a flyer before. I have read the BRB and on page 84-85 it mentions Flyers must start in reserves which I am ok with but I have also heard many things with people saying that "Flyers need to be zooming when coming out of reserves" I cannot see anything about this in the BRB so was just checking that if I had a hovering flyer it could start in hover mode or have I missed something?
Thanks in advance

This means that, if the Flyer arrives from Reserve, you must declare which type of movement it is using before placing it on the board.

Just remember that a Stormraven needs to move at least cruising speed to get onto the board from reserves, as at least a little bit of the stormraven will be off the board if you try to move it only 6 inches, due to how big the Stormraven model is. This also means you can not disembark as normal the turn you come on the board.

Incorrect. As a fast skimmer it can turn sideways and hence only move on 6, disembark from the base and be good.
But the unit inside still cant assault as it just came in from reserves.

You are incorrect. There is no way for a stormraven to turn and be on the board with a 6 inch move.
It takes at lease 8 or so inches to get the Stormraven completely onto the board.
So you can not hover with a Stormraven and only move 6 inches or less and still make it onto the board.

I suggest measuring the SR, and you will find that when you include the wings, as you must, it is not possible for it to move less than 6" and still be fully on the board.
