Something a little different for my entry into this m month's Painting Challenge, a repainted TIE Fighter from Revell.

And with a CSM for scale. The box listed it as 1:110, but it seems a tad larger to me.

And a pic (not mine) of an unpainted one, so you can see where this came from:

Twas a fun kit to paint up; I already have a TIE Interceptor to do, and may well pick up a couple of others. At around £7-10 a kit, there's certainly a lot of bang for your buck as a painting/display piece.

Thanks for looking, any thoughts welcome!

Awesome! I like the killmarks on the side too, nice touch!

You should check out the Bandai kits if you get the chance, they're wonderful.

Cheers!

I did see the Bandai X-wing on EBay the other day, I may well grab one as it did look good!

Very nice. It does look to be excellent value for the price and you've given it a paintjob worthy of a display piece.

Excellent.

Ta guys!

@Joe: yep, the wing insignia, kill tally and other markings are all freehand. And yep, I did lose my mind doing the big one.

Yep, the 'pocket easykit' one. Super-simple to assemble, but still has plenty of detail.

On further inspection seems there are two versions, a boxed version and this one, which has a foil outer wrapper. Not sure what the difference is beyond that, though.

Very Nice.

TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."
Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum

Re the pocket kits
The pocket kits are normally smaller( so they can fit into a pocket maybe....) and less detailed than the normal easyclip kits.

Next up, a TIE/IN 'Interceptor' from the same series of models. Slightly smaller scale than the regular TIE, but still a pretty neat model. I've borrowed the stand from the first one as well, as this didn't come with one. On with the pics!

Next up I'll be working on an old A-Wing or B-wing. Any preference?

Fantastic! I see he's a member of the 181st Fighter Wing, which is pretty cool.

I'm enjoying your Star Wars models and it makes me happy to see someone other than myself on Dakka painting them!

Honestly had no idea about the significance of the markings, I just copied a scheme/design that looked cool!

The 181st Fighter Wing was from X-Wing Rogue Squadron comic series and it was lead by perhaps the Empire's finest fighter ace, Soontir Fel:
