Hey all, planning to start Dark Eldar and I'm thinking of a list with 5 grotesques in it but I know (and agree) with folks saying it stinks the grotesque model isn't more customizable. Just wondering if any Dark Eldar players have used the Privateer Press Cephalyx Subduer/Warden/Wrecker model as a grotesque and how it looks on the table or if anyone's built a group of grotesques using the GW and PP models together? I do like the idea of the grotesques looking a little beefier even if they are based on Eldar bodies (fluff wise).
Just wanted some opinions.
Thanks

I had the same idea! Those hordes guys look amazing.
But I decided to use crypt horrors instead because I play at a GW store and didn't get to be banned.

Skaven Rat Ogres make good Grotesques, too.
I took some Confrontation Wulfen and added masks, syringes, etc, to make some grotesques to represent the Space Wolf scouts Urien Rakarth's turned into mutated monsters.
Several of the old Dreamblade minis are large enough and frightening enough to make good grots as well.

Did you go ahead and use the Cephalyx Wrecker?

You can also use AM Bull/ogryns, tyranid warriors, AoS ogres ($40 for 6 bodies). Just buy some spare talos/cronos bits off of eBay to make it fit the theme!
