Certain bitz due to the one per box design of sprues are extremely high in demand.

For me this bitz in question are Dark Eldar Scourge weapons like the Blaster, Haywire blaster, Heat Lances... they only come in 1 per box and in a squad you want 4. I've tried Ebay and sites like Mega Bitz Shop, Hoard'O Bits, bitz box. All are out of stock or not listed.

How do you guys hunt down these sorts of parts? Is the only option buying a new box purely for the bit and sell the rest to the bitz stores? ugh

You can always make spare blasters from dark lances.

I frequently contact people on Dakka or the Dark City with large armies of the bit type I need and ask them if they'd be interested in a swap.

I also like to check alternate boxes. (In addition to the scourge box, f'rex, there are heat lances, haywire blasters, and blasters in the warrior, Reaver, and Talos boxes. Harlequin's also have haywire weapons that can easily be used to convert your own haywire blaster. Of course, magnetizing the bits you DO have will make them go further.)

Hope that helps. If there's anything you're looking for for DE, holla my way!

Ask the people in your area nicely- often you can get lucky!

If you've exhausted eBay (there's some good bitz sellers there), then I'd go for your LFGS.

Nice! I'll pay a fair price for any scourge heavy weapons (esp. haywire) if you got any extra. Say $8 per haywire arm part. I also have a ton of Talos bits (bought 5 boxes) too.

Haha good one. No one plays Dark Eldar - everyone plays Space Marines though, often multiple chapters.

Haywire blasters are super easy to make for scorges. though you need a second or 3rd weapon to convert with it.

I converted the splinter rifle, and heat lance into one by using the twinlinked talos bits as well.

i dont think the darklance one would look as nice though.

I suppose you can stick the talos haywire into a splinter rifle stock but it'll look awkward no?

On a Rifle it looks bad.

On the cannon it looks ok.
