I am looking at running Legion Veteran Tactical Squads in my up coming 30K army.
They have the option to take 2 Special Weapons and then they can choose a USR. One of which is Sniper.
Sniper from Rule Book PG 171. Paragraph 2 and 3 paraphrased, [if a model has this rule and its shooting attacks always wound on a 4+ and against vehicles it counts as Strength 4]
Does that mean that if I give my 2 guys Melta or Plasma Guns that they only wound on 4s and their Strength is effectively cut in half against vehicles?
Because that doesn't make logical sense. However, that is what I am reading unless I am missing something.

I though the Strength against vehicles only mattered with snipers that had no STR. i dont recall though thats silly

Against vehicles, shooting attacks from weapons and models with the Sniper special rule count as Strength 4.
- Sniper
I highly recommend avoiding this Rule within the situation put forth, it was never intended to account for Weapons with Strength Scores.
