What units can work to support a primarily drop pod oriented list?
Flyers?
Deepstrikers?
Artillery?
Armor?
And does Chapter Tactics play a part in deciding?

Bikers and jump troops work okay for me.
Flyers and deep strikers have to roll to arrive and can't assault till turn 3.
Mobile artillery, sure. Static? I'm not sure.

If you are starting on the table, you might be eating an entire army’s worth of firepower before the pods come in. So you should either be tough, long ranged (to hide in the back), or have something else to help you survive.
If you are going to reserve it, to go for a null deploy list, you need to be fast.
I think flyers, speeders, and bikes fit well into a pod list. Armor and artillery can also work in a hybrid list, but I’d want to have more then a few units starting on the table.

Seems like going the fire support route is safer, especially if you take a fortification to hide in.
And it's less prone to being reliant on good reserve rolls.

When I play my Salamanders I have had the most success with 5 pods (30 Sterns and 2 5man Tacs) with 2 Stormravens to support them. The rest of the list is Vulcan and a Culexus assassin (usually deployed in the Ravens). It's 1850 pts when you add in the Melta/C-melta/Mbombs.
Requires the player using the list to near perfect target priority, but the more times I played it, the most wins I started tallying up.

Depends on what you drop in. If theres a lot of anti tank in the pods you may want to support them with a tfc. A storm raven isnt very points efficient for the anti tank it brings.
