If I have a unit that has multiple wounds that is being shot at from different angles how do you allocate wounds?

X XX
qqqqqqqq YYY

X and Y are scatterlaser bikes and q is fleshhounds, x unit causes 3 wounds that get through and y causes 1 wound that gets through. The hound unit has 12 models each with 2 wounds how many models are removed is it 1 with 2 hounds having 1 wound remaining or do you pick up 2 hounds?

from my understanding, the closest model eats all the wounds till it dies, then it moves to the next closest. unit X does 3 wounds, killing off the closest hound, and doing 1 wound to the next closest. the closest hound to unit Y has no wounds, so he takes the shots from unit y, not the wounded one. I hope that made sense.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

In 40k, wounds are allocated to the closest model, so you have to measure for each unit. Having multiple models wounded is a possibility and even a valid tactic, when you cycle the unharmed models to the frontline in your next round.
