Hey guys. I use a few different kinds of paints ranging from mostly GW/Citadel, a little Game Color from Vallejo and a little Vallejo Model. My main question is this: Whats the best way to thin my mostly GW paints when Im painting my minis? I have used water, Lahmian Medium, Winsor & Newton Flow Improver, Vallejo Acrylics thinner, and even the retarder though I use water along with that. Whats the most effective way to achieve the perfect... whats the word Im looking for? Flow I guess. LOL

Water works fine for me.
I've bought acrylic medium but to be honest, except on specific cases I never use it while painting.

I guess the answer will vary from one painter to another, depending on each one's preferences and personnal tastes.

I... actually don't know. Help?

I use water, and GW's Lahmian medium for washes.

When painting by brush I used water, when using my airbrush I used Vallejo thinner.

Water works most of the time, but for whites and matt varnish I use Vallejo's airbrush thinner.

A couple of years back I discovered that I really like using Liquitex Airbrush Medium for this. You can also thin down their regular matte medium 50/50 with water to get a similar consistency, but I really like the fact that you can never overthin with this medium. Your paint just becomes more and more transparent without becoming too watery.
