Hi,

last weekend I played a Maelstrom game with my IK and GK against a friend and his guys managed (against all odds ) to kill one of my IK with Overwatch when it tried to assault them. Only then did we notice the phrasing of the objective card that you are supposed to kill a vehicle "during your turn" (not sure about the translation, we only had German cards at that place).

So does this mean that playing the rules to the letter means that he denied himself D3 victory points by firing Overwatch?

Eldar
Necron
Chaos Space Marines
Grey Knights
Imperial Knights

Vanished Completely

Correct.
Have a good laugh and keep it as one of those stories you pass around the table, that is likely never to occur again.

8th made it so I can no longer sway Tau onto the side of Chaos, but they will eventually turn aside from their idea of the Greater Good to embrace the Greatest of pleasures.

It's the same in the English version. I've purposefully charged understrength units into combat just so they die on my turn and not during my opponent's when those cards come up. It's always a perfect time to wear a cheeky smile and claim their units are too good at killing mine and maybe if they picked Chaos Space Marines they'd have gotten some points.

Now that's just plain evil We can still hope to get a GK-style semi-playable 7th ed Codex, can't we?

@topic: guess we'll house rule this, else this leads to really weird playing, as you hinted at.
