I've got a solitaire and considering getting the death jester and shadowseer to make The Heroes Path and run them bound however I'm a guy who likes his fluff and this doesn't really seem very fluffy.

Anyone know what the fluff is for this formation or knows of a logical reason why these 3 might be fighting alone?

Thanks

Because they are so badass they will beat up most things they face alone.

Basically the formations fluff is that the shadowseer and the death jester each represent some eldar hero of legend who were on a quest, and the solitaire represents their hubris.

All of the harlequin formations are based of stories and legends, not on tactical usefulness.

But do you think you'd ever see in the fluff just a solitaire, death jester and shadowseer travelling and battling together without a troupe? and if so what do you think would be their reasons?

Sure, why wouldn't they? Everything harlequins do is a performance, even their battle tactics are based off of legends and plays. Whose to say the "quest" is only for one battle, it could be ongoing. The quest could of taken so long that they got consumed by their roles and are locked into playing that part until they die, the original purpose long forgotten. That consequence could of been the goal of the quest itself. Who knows... Harlequins are the most enigmatic of the already mysterious eldar.
