Updating my white scars grav-spam bike list for the new codex. Using the point savings between smaller bike units and cheaper support to throw in a conclave. my original thinking was the conclave should go all force mauls cause grav handles everything with armor. Then I thought about crons and their FNP. So now I"m thinking 2 mauls, 1 ax. Any other thoughts?

The conclave (3 librarians on bikes) ride with:

Smashfether (powerfist)
Khan
command squad with grav and SS and apoc.

I'll aim for prescience/perfect timing, then scream/invis, then maybe biomancy if I roll hot for spells. Anything I should prioritize instead? The rest of the list is grav-spam bikes, 2 thunderfires, and 2 stormtalons.

Just running a single Divination librarian would give you a lot of the benefits. Force Mauls do make sense.

I’d probably go with two axes and a maul.

OK, that’s a lie. If I had 3 guys, I’d give them all different weapons, just to tell them apart. Probably an axe/sword/maul.

But for other people, I’d recommend a mix of axes and mauls, probably leaning towards more axes. Just because anything that lives though the grav shooting is going to be concussed, and if it needs more then the shooting, will probably need the AP2.

A force sword is nice to take advantage of Warp Speed in Biomancy. I feel the sword, in general, makes the best use of the powers that enhance the psyker specifically as striking at initiative is good and the damage buffs provided reduce the need for the other weapons' strength and AP.

My conclave (not on bikes) has a sword, an axe, and a stave. I really like the mix of weapons, but if you're in doubt take the stave - it's the best weapon on its own merits.

Stave is the best for things your grav weapons aren't good against, which is the things you are most likely to charge. Like Orks. Or Daemons.

I use staves because I use them with grey knights to make them str 8 and I already have thunder hammers even with grav-guns I like the staves because you have plenty of ap 2 in your shooting phase and your chaptermaster has some also in cc.

I always run axes for the AP2 and +1S. It is very strong versus Cronz.

I went with 1 ax and 2 mauls.

I tried Larry, Curly and Moe against some blood angles with 0 psykers. I successfully cast once all game, even abusing the conclave schenanigans. Stupid dice.

Prescience on a force ax is kinda nice against power armor though.
