strange question but I've got an item, a full faced helmet/ head from a old GI joe figure and was wondering what would the best way to go about shrinking it down to the size of a 40k space marine head?.

so the size of the head is about the same as two space marine back packs , 15mm squared.

My thoughts so far was to make a mold of said item and use something like liquid green stuff ( if it's got a good enough shrinkage %), them repeat the process with the (slightly ??) shrunken item over and over until i have the correct size.

or if you guys know of a better product that got a good shrinkage rate...

I'm needing to try and keep the detail as much as possible. (other wise it's a wasted exercise)

cheers guys

I... actually don't know. Help?

From my experiences, LGS doesn't work with molds. Try it out, though.

This is a wasted exercise. The LGS doesn't shrink so much as it does retract a small bit. If you put it on at 100 percent, it dries at 99.5%. If you were to use it to fill a seam, once it dries you would need to go back over it and fill it once more. Regular green stuff is a better seam filler. LGS is intended to act just as a filler to get a smooth surface to counteract the horrible issues Failcast had to begin with with pitting and the like. Your best options are to either:

a) Use the original as a model and sculpt the head yourself, or
b) have the head laser scanned and the resulting scan scale adjusted for 28mm figures. Then have it 3d printed.
