So after deciding to buy some Night Spinners I am reading up on all the rules so I use them correctly and effectively. I plan on taking 2 of them in squad. They are barrage and that means you should have to follow the multiple barrage passage on page 160 of the BRB. The monofiliment shroud rule, allow 1 of the night spinners to shoot an additional shot for each night spinner in the squad and the others will not shoot. This addes 1+ to the strength for each additional shot. But would still use the multiple barrage rules as well?

So my question or lack of understanding is what is the difference? Because we are using multiple barrage rules, night spinner 1 rolls and gets a hit, and then rolls the scatter again to see it night spinner 2 hits or flips on a edge. This is the same as the vuals support shadow weaver battery I use. Or since they are in the same squad they have to target the same squad for shooting rules, but each Night spinner can position its blast over a different part of the unit and then roll scatter, trying to cover as much as you can. If you cannot do that, and must always follow multiple barrage rules, were you just roll the scatter for the second barrage in the unit, then are you always using the monofiliment shroud with the night spinners when you have more than 1? Because I am confused as to what the difference is, if any in the shooting of the night spinners when you have more than 1 of them. Hopefully someone will be able to understand what I am asking , lol.

So nightspinner 1 goes from being 1 shot to say 2 shot? If so it must follow the multiple barrage rule

Yes but per the multi barrage rule, all vehicles in the squadron will fire that way anyway, whether or not you use monofiliment shroud to increase your strength it fires the same way.So I the way I see it, 1 night spinner will always be shooting for the squad with increased strength based on how many nightspinners there are. Is this the way people play them?

The Multiple Barrage mechanic doesn't change whether it's 1 shot from 2 models or 2 shots from 1 model, so the only real difference is the increase in strength.

That is what I was figuring, so that is why I was confused, becasue it says you may use the monofiliment shroud, but there does not seem to be a reason not to. Not having played them yet, I wanted to ask for peoples input who have used them or played agaisnt them.

There are often times when there are no brainer options. This way if some other rule gets in the way, you are no longer blocked from using the "base" rules.
