Hello Dakkaland, first time posting, long time reader. Getting back into tabletop gaming as I have a son and some nephews & nieces that will be old enough to start learning. So I'm getting a couple years head start refreshing on the old favorites. I'm also getting back into painting miniatures, I work in the VFX industry and need some analog practice to keep my head on straight.

I inherited a friend's mix of armies after he stopped gaming. Mixed bag of Warhammer 40k Space Marines (Blood Angels, Ultramarines & Black Templars), Imperial Guard, Orcs and some Warhammer Fantasy Bretonnians & assorted characters.

From what I've been reading, I'm now painting and modifying the miniatures to the tune of a 7th edition Black Templar army and plan on using the Imperials & Orcs to play against (to start).

To list a few units:
1x Emperors Champion
1x Some Iron Fist HQ guy in huge terminator armor with a crazy power hammer
55x Terminators in various states, mostly assault w/ power firts, hammers and some swords
50x Tactical Marines in various states (which will become Crusade squads)
3x Heavy Marines (metal figs - one lascannon, heavy bolter & melta)
10x Jump Assault Tactical Marines
1x Squad of Scouts (To become Neophytes)
1x Scout Sniper Team
10x Various Sergeants & Captains
3x Dreadnoughts
3x Rhinos
1x Land Raider

I'm also getting back in to D&D / AD&D, also because of the aforementioned young ones who are very interested in the cool games their crazy uncle plays.

If anyone wants to point me to any relevant forums, that would be greatly appreciated, GAME ON!

That is an impressive model collection to get. Welcome to Dakka

TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."
Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
