Subject: Forgive this silly question, but Ordnace Barrages never cause Pinning tests?

It has been quite some time since I ever picked up a 40k rulebook, so when I decided to have a go at a 7th game I had to brush up on the basics. However looking through the rulebook, I cannot find any mentioning of an Ordnance Barrage (or barrages in general) causing Pinning. Has that always been the case? Seems quite silly getting hit by an Earthshaker round isn't much scarier than getting a face full of lasgun shots.

Hmmm, it used to be a common rule but I don't remember them causing pinning anymore. I haven't played in a while now but I think Ordinance used to cause pinning in 4th edition for sure.

It's included in the weapons profile now. Renegade Bombard, Heavy Mortar and Thudd Gun all have pinning included in their weapons profiles (for renegades IA13 & IA5 2nd Edition).

While that is true for Those weapons; it is not true for others.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.

Ahh thank you. Man that is so weird that the vast majority of artillery cause no pinning despite the Flavor Text of Pinning implying so.

Yeah, it is freaking stupid.
6th made sniper weapons viable by adding rending to the pinning(they were pretty much useless before)
Then 7th came along and killed sniper again(pinning, rending, and precision shot should all be part of sniper for the functionality of the gun); but everyone cried about pathfinders(eldar variety), so they nerfed the crud out of both instead of just the unit that got all the rules on easier rolls for a negligent points increase(honestly they could have kept them for an extra 5p/model and it would have been better)
