Hi,

Having abandoned their squishy forms and the need for sustenance long ago would I be right to assume that any planet regardless of atmosphere could be a potential tomb world?

As an example could an inhabitable planet and its desolate moon/another planet in the system both be tomb worlds? Or is it unlikely that they would be clustered together in the one system like that?

I ask as I'm putting together a new custom Necrons army and I'm writing up some outlines for the fluff, I know you can basically write whatever you want but I wanna have my fun without pissing in the holy water...

Between

They would have to be part of the same dynasty, or part of a co-operation mission by two allied dynasties. If they were from separate non-allied Dynasties, they would have never gone to sleep without ensuring absolute control of the system.

A Tomb World is essentially a Necron Colony that's been converted into a hybernation chamber, after all.

on the forum. Obviously

Yeah, they have to either part of the same dynasty, allies or one has to be a vassal.
If they were two different dynasties they would be fighting each other all the time.

If you're trying to make them enemies you could say one of the tomb worlds (or both) were damaged in the reawakening and they forget the alliance, leading to a necron fight.

Or you could just call them allies or part of the same dynasty and call it good.

Thanks for the help guys, I painted up an Immortal with the back story in mind (nothing too fancy, pretty standard Nec scheme with an addition) hope what iv'e put together floats!

Here's the dribble I came up with

Current status - Overlord Usarhek, regent of the Sobektah Tripartite, vassal to Imotekh the Stormlord Phaeron of the Sautekh Dynasty.

The Sobektah Tripartite is an agreement between Overlord Usarhek, Lord Saren-khun & Lord Temehu who collectively control x2 tomb worlds.

*Tomb world Nakht, home to Overlord Usarhek & Lord Temehu is a water-world with polar icecaps, At the advent of hibernation the planet was earth-like but 60 million years changes things.
*Tomb world Sihabekh, home to Lord Saren-kuhn is the larger of x2 moons that orbit Nakht, it's a baren planet lifeless rock.

Both tomb worlds were stricken with in-fighting between competing lords shortly after the awakening in 784 M.41, of the various belligerents only Usarhek, Saren-khun & Temehu awoke being concious of the Sautekh Dynasty and their place in it.
The fighting on Nakht raged across the ocean floor and across the polar ice caps while the fighting on Sihabekt was the boring old normal kind of surface combat where endless cohorts of immortal living metal death machines relentlessly lance deadly energy beams into each-other until one side stops getting back up.

After several years the conflicts on both Nakht & Sihabekt were resolved thanks to the tripartite agreement struck between Usarhek, Saren-khun & Temehu, with Usarhek at its head.
All other lords were culled and an ocean blue cartouche was adopted to symbolise their allegiance to the tripartite and its two tomb worlds.

Shortly after his victory at the siege of Hypnoth in 911 M.41, Imotekh the stormlord would discover the Tripartite and its tomb worlds adding its power to the Sautekh dynasty.

Any thoughts? doesn't fit in some way? too much fap, not enough?
