So when I logged off Thursday night/Friday morning everything on Dakka was hunky dory.

I get on to Dakka today, and I start to see "Ads by DNSUnlocker" ads pop on on the right hand side of my screen, and various "keywords" in threads start to highlight with links. When I navigate to Dakka, I get a notification that I have "pop ups enabled" (I don't...) and exiting the message takes me to an obviously fake website.


I've scanned my computer using my anti-virus, Malware Bytes, adwcleaner (as suggested by a guide on removing "Ads by DNSUnlocker"), and the scans return nothing pertaining to this issue.

I also think it's related to Chrome (running Version 45.0.2454.85 m) as I'm writing this in Firefox at the moment, and I'm not seeing any of the issues.

Pre-Submission Edit: Okay it's gone at the moment, so I'm not sure wtf I did/didn't do. Hopefully this is just me, but in case it's not it couldn't hurt to get Lego's eyes on it.

That's what I thought at first, and I've gone through that guide and a few others trying to remove it and I had none of the things that said I was infected except for what popped up in my screen grab. I only was experiencing it in Chrome on Dakka, which is why I created the thread.

Like I said, it is gone now, but my computer literally removed nothing from itself before it disappeared.

There's a slim chance that some computer between you and the ad server was infected in some way and that was sorted out too. DNSunlocker simply cant be applied to dakka in any way so worst case it would be a third party service between you and us, but the most probably is a virus which got caught and cleaned up on your end automatically somehow.
