I dont own a computer so I can't upload a picture to my profile.
Other sites let you use an Image URL as the picture and I was wondering if that was possible.

I'm afraid we disabled that as the software did not have automatic downloading available at the time, and remote linking would make a thread load more slowly due to all the extra DNS requests and remote connections which we were not willing to allow. Now parts of the code rely on the file being present for an avatar so we cant just turn it on either.

If you're on a computer all can't you download a picture to its desktop, resize it then upload it? Once its uploaded you're free to delete it should that cause any issue.

Yes, but you don't see that my WiiU which can't download stuff is the ONLY way I can access Dakka atm.
